'No End in Sight': Rialto Residents Plead for Answers, Timeline to Return

Nearly 400 displaced residents say they're running out of money and patience five days after the Sand Lake Road complex was evacuated for structural cracking.

Residents of The Rialto at 7343 W. Sand Lake Road gathered again Monday demanding a return timeline from management. Engineers remain on site and have begun opening walls, floors, and ceilings for deeper evaluation — but no re-entry date has been set. The building's management company says it will waive remaining March rent and give each resident $1,000 for expenses, but tenants say that barely covers a week of hotels. Orange County's Building Division won't authorize re-entry until a full structural report is complete.
