Near-Record Heat Today, Then a Cold Front Hits Monday

Sunday's high of 89° is flirting with record territory — then a cold front arrives Monday with NNE winds gusting to 30 mph and a 10-degree drop.

Central Florida is baking through a near-record Sunday before a cold front changes everything by Monday morning. Highs today could reach 89°, close to all-time records for the date, according to WFTV. The front sweeps in overnight, dragging north-northeast winds of 15–20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Temperatures will drop to the upper 70s on Monday and settle into the low 80s by midweek — a welcome break heading into Earth Day Wednesday.
